What do you do when you first meet a client who wants landscaping ?
Well, I generally go out to the yard or the house and take a look around with them ,we like to walk the space with them. It’s just so much better to be there in person and get a look at what it is they want so that they can describe it in detail. They might like a certain view on this corner of the house or around in the backyard they might have a different idea or that they may have a unique approach for the driveway and how it all fits into the overall look. There’s just no substitute for being there in person doing a walk-through of the yard.
How do you go about the actual job?
Really it’s very straightforward once we get a plan formulated and budget my crew will go out and start the work. Depending on the size of the shrubbery and trees, whether or not we need to reseed, ornamental statuary around the yard if there is any, other landscaping that might come into play, soil testing is done from the beginning, so a lot of it depends on how much work we’re going to be doing and the season time that it needs to be done by. Often when a couple wants landscaping here in Charlotte done it is leading up to a special event like a wedding they may have planned in the yard, or at the house or a certain kind of party or get together and they want their yard to look really special.
Sometimes couple wants their yard to look good they start to think it’s time to redo so you fix one little part and the rest of the yard shows up that they need to be redone or re-landscaped and the next thing you know you’ve got a much bigger project than you originally planned. So working closely with the couple is something that is important because so many factors play into it as the job unfolds. Each yard is different, each home and the personal tastes of the homeowners play into how we’re going to landscape the yard and home so all these factors play a role and make a difference large or small in the overall scheme of things.
